About FDU's Graduate Online Certificates
How long do courses last?
The online courses are offered in a trimester system, with each course lasting 10 weeks. Classes begin in late September (through December), early January (through March), and early April (through June). If you take two classes (6 credits) per trimester, it is possible to earn the 30-credit Master of Administrative Science degree in about 20 months of study.
How does online learning work?
Online learning can be a very powerful form of learning, particularly for working professionals. Online studies offer a number of important benefits for adults, including:
- Anytime-anyplace convenience;
- Structured yet independent learning;
- Active Web-based interactions with your instructors and fellow students that add impact and depth to your learning experience;
- Instruction by highly experienced practitioners who bring the latest theory and practices to the subject of homeland security;
- The ability to network with students from throughout the country, who bring diverse backgrounds, skills and perspectives to the course of study;
- An asynchronous modality (not in real time) that allows you to fit the work flow to your schedules and work/personal commitments. Log on mornings, afternoons or evenings - whenever it's most convenient for you; and
- "Step-in, step-out flexibility" - courses are not offered in a rigid sequence with pre-requisites.
