(973) 443-8689 FacilitiesMini-computingUniversity Systems and SecurityThe Department of University Systems and Security has mini computers available to students across both campuses: a DEC Alpha running OSF/1 (Digital Unix) and a DEC VAX4000 running VMS. These minis are accessible from every computer center at FDU, the libraries, the learning centers, as well as through dial-up numbers. Micro-computingComputing Services, on both New Jersey campuses, offers access to IBM compatible computers. Each computer is connected to Novell Netware 4.11 servers which provide DOS and MS-Windows based programs.
Lab C is designated to student use (no classes will be using Lab C). Pay-per-copy laser printer printouts are available in Lab C.
Room 27, the Multimedia Lab, has three printers (HP DeskJet 1600CM, Epson stylus, and Apple Laser Writer), and two scanners (UMAX ASTRA 1200S and Polaroid Sprint Scan 35/LE). Room 28 has Dell Pentium II 350 Mhz systems with 64 MB of ram and 1 pay-per-copy ($.10/page) laser printer. Room 28 is designated for student use (no classes scheduled).
Room D210-211, the Graphic lab, has three printers (Tektronix, HP Deskjet, and Apple Laser Writer), and one UMAX ASTRA Scanner. PoliciesUsers of the computing facilities are required to abide by FDU's Acceptable Use Policy
BBSFDU offers Prism BBS as one of our services to Internet community. After connecting, log in as bbs (lower case) with no password.
