McCurry Exhibit Open House

On Friday, September 21, Fairleigh Dickinson University-Vancouver (FDU-Vancouver) held an open house at its Yaletown campus for viewing of Steve McCurry’s photo exhibit, Afghanistan’s Children: The Next Generation. Over forty photo enthusiasts viewed McCurry’s prints displayed throughout the FDU-Vancouver campus.  Attendees also watched a slide show of McCurry’s favorite photographs from his trip to Southeast Asia.  McCurry’s recent interview on Shaw Television from his trip to Vancouver was also put on view.  Attendees were given a tour of the innovative facility and were given exclusive access to classrooms containing McCurry’s work.  The open house came as result of popular demand following a lecture given by McCurry to a packed house at the FDU-Vancouver campus.

FDU-Vancouver is proud to have hosted McCurry’s photo exhibit commemorating the opening of the university’s campus.  The poignant exhibit has been viewed by thousands at the United Nations in New York before coming to Vancouver, and chronicles some of McCurry’s best photos from war-torn Afghanistan over the past 20 years.  Originally slatted to take place at the Vancouver Public Library, the exhibit was moved to the FDU-Vancouver campus where it remains as a notable element of the new university.
