Funds raised during holiday drive provide over 31,000 meals
FDU’s School of Public and Global Affairs, Feeding America, and Community FoodBank of New Jersey Raises Over $10,500 During the 2021 Holiday Food Drive
January 11, 2022 – Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Public & Global Affairs, Feeding America, and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey recently completed their third annual holiday statewide food drive which raised over $10,540. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the hungry and needy families in New Jersey. The money translates to 31,620 meals. “You should not have hungry kids or parents in the Garden State,” said Clark Gettinger who organized the drive for the School of Public and Global Affairs.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s food drive was again virtual. Donors had the option to donate meals or make financial contributions. The University, Feeding America and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey worked with local municipal governments throughout the state to help promote the event and raise financial contributions from residents and interested donors.
FDU, Feeding America and the Community Foodbank would like to thank everyone who contributed financial support and all of the local government officials who assisted the sponsors to make the event a success.
