Pharmacy Program Financial Aid Process

Fall 2023 and Spring 2024

Applying for financial aid must be done each year. Please follow the steps below.

Step 1: File your Federal Income Tax Return
Complete your 2021 federal income tax return. If you are married and did not file jointly, you need to include your spouse’s income information as well. If you are not required to file a federal tax return, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.

Step 2: Apply for a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)
Apply for a FSA ID. This will allow you to sign your FAFSA application electronically. If you already have a FSA ID, you do not need to re-apply for another. Your FSA ID can be used each year to electronically apply for financial aid and to access your records online.

Step 3: Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.studentaid.gov. Use the school code 002607 (Fairleigh Dickinson University.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS 

Your answers should be as follows:

When you begin the 2023-2024 school year, what will be your grade level?
1st YR. GRADUATE/PROFESSIONAL or CONTINUING GRADUATE/PROFESSIONAL

When you begin the 2023-2024 school year, what degree or certificate will you be working on?
GRADUATE / PROFESSIONAL DEGREE

Working on Masters or Doctorate in 2023-2024?
YES

Step 4: Cost of Attendance (COA)
Review the Cost of Attendance to determine how much aid you may need.

Step 5: Graduate PLUS Loan
Students who are also interested in applying for a Direct Graduate PLUS loan must complete the application at studentaid.gov/. The Award Year is 2023-2024. You must authorize the school to use your Direct PLUS Loan to pay for other educationally related charges that you, the student, will incur at the school. The loan period should be from August 2023 to May 2024. Certify that the information you have entered is true and authorize the U.S Department of Education to perform a credit history check to determine eligibility.

Step 6: Entrance Counseling
You must complete entrance counseling before the school can make the first disbursement of your loan. This helps you to understand your responsibilities regarding your loan. Please go to https://studentaid.gov/ to complete this task.

Step 7: Sign Electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN)
You must go to www.studentaid.gov/ and e-sign an eMPN for the Direct Unsubsidized Loan. If you are borrowing a Direct Graduate PLUS Loan you must e-sign a separate eMPN in addition to the one for your Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

Step 8: Private/Alternative Loan
For Private/Alternative Loan applicants, you must notify the Office of Financial Aid when you apply so we can certify and accept the loan.
