FDU Honors Academy

Students in the FDU Honors Academy join an exclusive cohort of motivated students from a wide variety of disciplines. Together, you will work closely to explore and address common problems and critical global issues such as sustainability, human rights, and the impact of technology on modern life.

Honors Program

The University Honors Program offers gifted and motivated students the opportunity to pursue a course of college study that combines a broad liberal education with intensive, guided study in a particular major field of interest. The Honors Program encourages experiential learning outside of the classroom.

Global Scholars

Global Scholars students complete an organized and integrated course of study that combines intensive academic multi-disciplinary learning environments with a cross-spectrum of cultural living experiences on and off campus. This program is only on the Metropolitan Campus.

Admission requirements

In order to be eligible for each program, incoming freshman must meet the minimum academic requirements and must submit the application to be offered a virtual interview with the Honors Team and Community. More details will be listed on the FDU Honors Application. The University Honors Program and Global Scholars (Metro Campus) have rolling admissions from mid-December into the summer. For the Honors Academy, the Priority Deadline is December 1. The Regular Deadline is January 1. If any spots remain after that, Academy applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

University Honors Program and Global Scholars (Metro Campus) have opportunities for transfer students and current FDU students to join after their first year. Please contact fduhonors@fdu.edu for more details, but do not use the application form linked here. Honors Academy admission is only available for incoming first year students.

You can apply for the either University Honors Program and Honors Academy on the Florham campus, or the University Honors Program, Honors Academy, or Global Scholars on the Metropolitan Campus. Please note this application is for the incoming class of 2021 Freshman only, current FDU students should email fduhonors@fdu.edu to express interest.
