Child and Adolescent ADHD ClinicAttention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a neurological disorder that affects up to 5% of school-aged children and adolescents. Children with ADHD may exhibit developmentally inappropriate attention skills, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and poor school performance. If undiagnosed and untreated, ADHD can negatively impact a child's ability to effectively learn at home and school, as well as to develop healthy relationships with family, peers, and adults. Given the profound effects of ADHD, the Center for Psychological Services at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) has developed a specialized program which provides comprehensive cognitive behavioral assessment and treatment services for children with ADHD (age 3 to 21 years) and their families. The Child and Adolescent ADHD Clinic uses a multimodal treatment approach which offers problem-focused interventions and support services to children, families, and schools. |
