FDU Establishes Dual B.A./Pharm.D. Program with Kean University

February 16, 2024 — Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in academic collaboration with Kean University announced a dual degree program that will provide a faster pathway for aspiring pharmacists to earn their doctoral degrees close to home.

“We are committed to providing our students opportunities to excel and pursue the career of their dreams,” said Kean President Lamont O. Repollet, Ed.D. “These agreements offer our chemistry students robust avenues to success. We look forward to establishing additional partnerships in other disciplines to provide even more opportunities for our diverse student body.”

The accelerated degree program with FDU enables Kean students to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Kean and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from FDU in just seven years. This trims a full year off the traditional time required to earn these credentials.

“A BA in chemistry from Kean University and a PharmD degree from FDU will provide an opportunity for students for complete their BA, PharmD, and a Master’s degree (if desired), all in seven years.  This expands options for students who are typically not afforded such opportunities to pursue rewarding careers in health care and pharmaceutical industry, all in the state of New Jersey,” said Anastasia Rivkin, Dean of FDU’s School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Innovation, service and interprofessional engagement are at the core of health science education at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Doctor of Pharmacy program enrolled its first class in 2011 and remains one of only two Pharm.D. programs in New Jersey. Beyond pharmacy, the school offers a diverse array of programs aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of today’s healthcare landscape. These include the Master of Public Health, Master of Social Work, Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies and Occupational Therapy Doctorate.
