Academic Resource Center
The Academic Resource Center provides students the opportunity to develop skills and strategies necessary for academic success. Our goals are to enhance each student’s ability to learn, apply knowledge, and think critically. We encourage personal responsibility so that students will become confident and independent learners as a result of their tutorial relationship.
Our commitment to students
The Academic Resource Center provides the following free services to all Fairleigh Dickinson University students:
- Individual tutoring sessions designed to meet a student’s specific needs
- Small group tutoring by subject area, conducted by a tutor for two or more students in a common course with a common instructor
- Larger group sessions designed to reinforce a specific skill or concept
- Comprehensive placement testing services for basic skills and foreign languages
- Developmental courses in the fundamentals of reading comprehension
- Developmental labs to accompany courses in English Composition and Mathematics
