Fairleigh Dickinson University Earns Multiple Spots on the 2024 Best Colleges Rankings

FDU Returns to the Top 50 in U.S. News Rankings

September 18, 2023 — FDU has resumed its place in the top 50 of regional universities in the north while continuing to rank among the top “Best Value Schools” in the region, according to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report collegiate rankings.

The latest rankings, released today, saw FDU climb 18 spots to number 45 in regional universities in the north. FDU also was ranked number 14 in “Best Value Schools” and number 13 in “Top Performers on Social Mobility.” In addition, the University did very well in a new category created by the organization, ranking number 17 in “Undergraduate Teaching Programs.”

“We are very pleased that FDU ranked so highly in so many key categories,” said FDU President Michael J. Avaltroni. “We have long prided ourselves on the value we offer and the opportunities we provide our students to move upwards, so to see those hallmarks recognized in these rankings is especially gratifying. I want to thank our faculty and the entire community for making such a difference and for providing the personal support and real-world knowledge that is so valuable and transformative for our students.”

The University’s undergraduate programs in business, computer science, engineering and psychology also were highly ranked. And FDU once again was named among the “Best Colleges for Veterans” in the region.

FDU’s rankings in various categories are as follows:

Regional Universities North #45: FDU has earned the 45th position among regional universities in the Northern region. This achievement reflects FDU’s consistent dedication to academic excellence, innovative programs and transformative student success.

Best Value – Regional Universities North #14: FDU was ranked 14th in the “Best Value” category among regional universities in the Northern region. This recognition highlights the University’s commitment to providing a top-tier education at an affordable cost.

Social Mobility – Regional Universities North #13: FDU’s 13th place ranking in the “Social Mobility” category is a testament to FDU’s commitment to advancing the socioeconomic mobility of its students, ensuring that all have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Undergraduate Teaching – Regional Universities North #17: FDU’s dedication to excellence in teaching is evident with the 17th place ranking in the “Undergraduate Teaching” category. The faculty’s commitment to student success is at the core of FDU’s educational mission.
