September 23, 2025 — For the first time, Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan and Florham campuses received separate rankings in U.S. News & World Report. While the campuses have distinctive characteristics, student populations and campus environments that shape how they are measured, both campuses were ranked in the top 10 in the region for Best Value Schools.

“We are proud of the distinctive nature of the two campuses,” said FDU President Michael Avaltroni. “Both campuses have unique qualities that serve a wide variety of students, but the common ingredient is that both campuses offer students transformational experiences at an exceptional value.”

In the 2026 rankings in particular, the Florham Campus remains highly ranked for its quality and value (ranked 35 among the regional universities in the north and 8 for best value), while the Metropolitan Campus continues to be recognized for its excellence in social mobility (ranked 9 in the region) and value (7).

“We are honored that both the Metropolitan and Florham campuses are so highly recognized in these national rankings,” Avaltroni added. “These results reflect the special strengths of each campus while underscoring our shared mission to provide opportunity, value and excellence to students from all walks of life.”

In addition, several programs were highly ranked including undergraduate business, computer science, engineering, nursing and psychology. FDU also continues to be heralded as one of the best colleges for veterans, ranking 26 in the region.

Together, the two campuses highlight the breadth and depth of FDU’s educational mission of access, opportunity, quality and transformation. Looking ahead, the University is focusing strongly on professional, career-focused programs with initiatives like FDU HealthPath Forward, which brings the strength of FDU’s health and health-related programs to new partnerships to drive innovation, improve healthcare delivery and to build models of health and well-being on campus and beyond.
