Midsummer Night’s Dream on Stage at Fairleigh Dickinson University

Madison, N.J. (February 28, 2023) — The Fairleigh Dickinson University Theater Department will present William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, opening on March 3 at 10:30 a.m. There will be 7:30 p.m. shows later that evening and on March 4. A 2:30 matinee will take place on March 5.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the original romantic comedy! Four lovers pursue each other into the woods where they stumble across a fight between the Fairy King and Queen that sets nature itself out of order,” said Director of Theater Program Stacie Lents. “As the fairies use and abuse their magic, our lovers wonder whether love can be trusted any more than a dream. Complete with music and dance, fights and chases…and a man with the head of a donkey, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a lightning-fast and funny comedy about love, magic, and passion. This production is modern, hilarious, magical–and a tremendous amount of fun!”

The production is directed by Nolan Hennelly. David Landau is the lighting designer and Maiko Chii is the set designer. Costume design is by Miranda Graves.

Tickets range from $5 to $15 with discounts available for students, faculty and staff, and senior citizens. Tickets are encouraged to be purchased pre-performance online at the University’s website since they may not be available at the door.
