Students Put Their Questions to the NJ Gubernatorial Candidates

October 20, 2025 — This October, the University hosted gubernatorial candidates Jack Ciattarelli and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) at the Florham Campus. Ciattarelli appeared on October 1, and Sherrill visited on October 17.

Amid a crowd of students, faculty, staff and community members, the candidates fielded questions on mental health support, abortion, affordable housing and development, LGBTQ+ public school curriculum, banned books, higher education costs and other topics.

Peter Woolley, professor of political science and chair of the School of Public and Global Affairs, moderated the events. Questions came from Woolley, students and a few select guests.
