“Women and Crime” Podcast to Discuss Edna Mahan Live at FDU
Madison N.J., (October 16, 2025) — FDU Professors and hosts of Women and Crime Podcast, Meghan Sacks and Amy Shlosberg, will host a live episode of their podcast on Wednesday, November 5 from 7-8:30 p.m. Called “Women and Prison: Voices from Edna Mahan,” the episode will feature women who were formerly incarcerated at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility.
It will take place in Dreyfuss Theater on the Florham Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University, 285 Madison Ave, Madison, NJ 07940. The event is free and open to the public.

Edna Mahan Correctional Facility has been in the news lately regarding its scandal, impending closing, and dismissal of charges against prison guards.
Hosts Sacks and Shlosberg have been featured on ABC’s 20/20, Good Morning America, Court TV, Discovery+, Fox 5 New York, and in Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, People, and Vulture. The two criminologists cover a new female-focused case each episode. Listeners hear the stories of these women, paired with the science that explains where it all went wrong.
The hosts explore the causes of female crime, victimology, the legal system, as well as celebrate heroines who have left their mark on the criminal justice system. Sacks and Shlosberg are both professors of criminology and have years of first-hand experience working with offenders and professionals in the criminal justice system. They teach classes covering topics such as: Women & Crime, Race & Crime, Criminology, and Serial Killers.
