Wroxton College Plans Finalized

October 24, 2025 — Fairleigh Dickinson University has finalized the contract to transfer ownership of Wroxton College to a group led by FDU alumni. The alumni group is committed to preserving the transformational study-abroad experience that students have enjoyed for 60 years.
As announced in an email to the University community from FDU President Michael Avaltroni, the University will continue to manage the campus and programs through May 15, 2026, at which time the alumni group, acting through companies formed by the alumni, will assume all operations and management for Wroxton College and continue to offer the university-level education programs there.
“This is a unique and special opportunity to continue the legacy of Wroxton College and illustrates the outstanding commitment and passion of our Wroxton alumni,” Avaltroni said. “Not only will FDU and its students continue to have access to Wroxton College, but our Wroxton faculty and staff, including Dean Nicholas Baldwin, will maintain their roles at the college.”
“We’re thankful to FDU for their dedication to finding a positive solution that secures Wroxton’s future,” said Lakshman Achuthan, a Wroxton alum who is helping lead the transition. “It’s been inspiring to see Wroxton’s alumni community come together so quickly to ensure that its legacy continues, making this unique educational experience available to generations to come.”
Kenneth Malagiere, chair of the Wroxton Advisory Committee, who is also guiding the process, added, “This is a win-win for everyone involved — preserving Wroxton’s legacy while enabling it to grow as an independent institution.”
Through this academic year and the upcoming transition period, “nothing will change for FDU students or faculty and staff,” Avaltroni said. “Afterwards, we are equally confident the college will continue to offer an exceptional study-abroad program to FDU students, and the University will maintain a close relationship with the college.” Faculty and staff will have their employment transferred to the new entity and FDU students will continue to be eligible to enroll.
Avaltroni added, “I again want to thank everyone who has played a role in developing the extraordinary program at Wroxton and building an incredible legacy that will continue for generations of new students. The future of Wroxton College is in very good hands with our alumni and we will do all we can to help them flourish.”
