FDU Vancouver is excited to announce that the Master of Administrative Studies – Specialization in Human Resources program is now approved and accredited with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources British Columbia & Yukon (CPHR BC & Yukon).
The Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is Canada’s nationally recognized certification for professionals in human resources. Granted by CPHR BC & Yukon across the province and territory, the CPHR designation provides holders with the advantages of proven experience, continual learning, membership in a knowledge community, and a high standard of ethical behavior.
“This accreditation marks an important milestone for the MAS–HR program, reinforcing its quality and alignment with recognized professional standards set by the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources British Columbia & Yukon,” shared by Dr. Tamanna Singhdeo, PhD., program coordinator for the MAS program. “It enhances the value of the degree by helping students build relevant competencies and positioning them more strongly for HR careers and professional certification pathways.”
“We are excited about this milestone as it demonstrates the program’s strong alignment with current labour market needs and industry expectations,” says Dr. Reza Khoee, PhD., Assistant Professor at FDU. “This accreditation ensures that students are developing the competencies and practical knowledge employers are actively seeking, significantly enhancing their employability. It also provides a clear and credible pathway toward the CPHR designation, positioning graduates for long-term career success in the HR profession.”
This means that, effective immediately, graduates of this program who meet the requirements are eligible to waive writing the National Knowledge Exam® moving them one step closer to receiving their CPHR designation. Graduates who achieve an overall cumulative average of 70% or B- and become a member of CPHR BC & Yukon, may apply for exemption from the National Knowledge Exam [NKE] and, if approved, receive the CPHR Candidate status, the first step towards earning your full CPHR designation.
Once you graduate, please send official transcripts demonstrating your 70% or B- cumulative average to CPHR Registrar via email cphr@cphrbc.ca. Please contact them for questions related to earning the designation and if you qualify for this exemption.
For FDU Vancouver alumni, this exemption is also available to qualifying students who have graduated from the Masters of Administrative Studies (Previously known as Master of Administrative Science) with any specialization at FDU Vancouver from May 2020 or later with a minimum GPA of 70% (B-) under certain terms and conditions.
