Mission 

The Center for Character Development exists to advance the scientific study and practical development of character across many settings, both inside and outside of academia. 

Through research, assessment, education, coaching, and strategic partnerships, CCD is committed to developing and distributing tools that help people understand and develop their character; grow in practical wisdom; and cultivate habits that support ethical leadership, meaningful relationships, personal effectiveness, and lifelong flourishing. 

Grounded in both contemporary psychological science and enduring philosophical traditions, the center bridges research and practice by helping individuals move beyond simply identifying their strengths toward learning how to express those strengths wisely in the varied contexts of everyday life.
