Can an EPS student complete Academic support by just doing one-on-one tutoring and no workshops?

Yes. The one-on-one tutoring is a subset of the overall support. Anything extra that is done is counted towards the overall academic support minutes. So if a student must do 720 total, and 180 one-on-one tutoring minutes, the student essentially needs to do 540 minutes of academic support and 180 of one-on-one minutes. But the student can choose to do 720 one-on-one tutoring minutes, but not vice-versa.

How can a student register for one-on-one tutoring appointments?

Students can go to the departments listed below for one-on-one tutoring as follows:

  • Metro Writing Studio (MWS) on the Metropolitan Campus: Drop in tutoring is available during open hours. You must bring an assignment or a piece of writing that you are working on to use MWS services.

How can EPS students check whether their academic support/tutoring minutes are being recorded correctly?

First, EPS students must make sure that they keep a close record of their academic support/tutoring done using the yellow tracker card provided (if they are attending in person classes) or using their own notebook (if they are attending virtual classes). From time to time, the academic support/tutoring hour report will be posted on the PLCPA notice board in 835 Sub Lane (PLCPA Place) and can also be accessed through their EPS course WebCampus Academic Support links.
