Foundational Math
About the program
The goal of the Foundational Math program is to set students on a path to success through reducing anxiety and supporting individual learning needs.
Math can seem intimidating—but it doesn’t have to be! The Foundational Math courses demystify math and make it approachable for all. We believe in empowering students through ongoing support and connecting classroom learning to life outside of college. To do this, we have designed Foundational Math class meetings to be hands on sessions including group work, discussion, and collaborative problem solving. To prepare students for the technological demands of today, we use digital learning solutions that incorporate a variety of study materials and give students access to individualized learning plans and rich media content.
The Foundational Math program offers 4 courses:
- MATH 0298: Algebra Skills
- MATH 1100: Intermediate Algebra
- MATH 1101: Comprehensive Mathematics
- MATH 1105: College Algebra
Foundational Math assignment is determined by placement testing. Following successful completion of Foundational Math courses, please consult with your academic advisor to determine whether additional math courses are requisite to fulfil your major’s requirements.
