Campus Security Authorities (CSAs)

Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) are mandatory reporters under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act who are obligated to report alleged crimes to include hazing, murder/manslaughter, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and incidents regarding weapons, drugs, and alcohol.

As a CSA, your role is critical in maintaining the safety of our campus community. You are responsible for reporting allegations of crimes that you either personally know about or are reported to you and ensuring this information is retained for the end-of-year collection. CSAs are also often required to provide support and connect individuals with campus resources such as Public Safety, Student Wellness, and Counseling Services. Although not all employees are designated as CSAs, all employees will continue to be required to report any allegations of crimes to Public Safety or any CSA.

The list of CSAs now includes:

  • The President and Cabinet
  • University Emergency Management Team
  • Student Conduct Officials
  • Student Affairs Professionals overseeing Greek organizations
  • Title IX Coordinators
  • University Housing Leadership including Graduate Hall Directors
  • Directors of Student Wellness Services
  • Athletics Leadership Team, including all Head and Assistant Coaches
  • All Public Safety Personnel
  • Campus Executive/Dean of the College for Vancouver and Wroxton
  • All College/School Deans and Directors
