Vancouver Campus 2021 Commencement

Congratulations Class of 2020-2021!

On May 6 at 12 PM (PST) we celebrated the Classes of 2020 and 2021 with a virtual Commencement Ceremony. President Capuano and Provost Small were on hand for the 11th Vancouver Commencement Ceremony.

The FDU Vancouver Campus has graduated students from 81 different countries since 2007. The classes of 2020 and 2021 comprise 1013 students hailing from 39 countries. Included are 25 students from the BS IT program; 41 from the BSBA; 73 from the BAIS program; 53 from the MSHMS; and 821 from the Master of Administrative Science program. In our undergraduate class, 10 graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Grade Point Average of 3.85 or higher, 15 graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Grade Point Average of 3.67 or higher; and 28 graduated Cum Laude with a Grade Point Average of 3.33 or better.

Pre-Commencement Dinner

Vancouver Graduation Salute

Following strict guidelines from the government, Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver Campus will not be hosting a Graduation Salute in 2021.

Gowns and Regalia

Students are able to order their Regalia through Build A Grad website: by February 28, 2021.

Gowns Pick-Up

Students who ordered their Regalia will be able to collect it at FDU (842 Cambie Street) starting from: Tuesday, April 6Friday, April 16, 2021.

Regalia packages are only available for those graduating students who pre-ordered a graduation package. If you missed the ordering deadline, please contact

Remember to bring your STUDENT ID or any other official piece of ID. If you want a friend or family member to collect your gown, please email us at Include your name, ID number and the name of the person who will be collecting on your behalf. This person must book an appointment using the above link.

All graduating students are required to complete the Commencement Exit Survey before collecting their regalia. Click here to access the survey and take a screenshot when you complete it to show us during pick up.

To ensure the safety of our staff and students, all visitors will be required to follow COVID-19 safety protocols upon entry. If you are feeling sick, please stay home and book another time to collect your gown or ask a friend to do this for you.

Grad Photo

Graduating students are invited to submit a photo wearing their regalia to be included in the 2021 Virtual Commencement Ceremony.

*Students who did not order regalia, kindly submit a professional photo of yourself.

Submit your photo to Please include your Full Name, Student ID and an optional message of a maximum of 30 words (150 characters).

Example: “Thank you mom and dad for all your support. My time at FDU has taught me a lot and I will remember it for many years to come.”

Grad Greetings Video

Graduating students are invited to submit a 30 seconds long video to take part in the annual Grad Greetings video message. These messages should express your appreciation to those who have helped you reach this milestone and other meaningful messages you wish to convey.

Grad Slide Show

The Vancouver Campus is putting together a slide show with fun photos to include in the Virtual Commencement Ceremony. Send up to 4 photos of your time at FDU before Friday, April 26, 2021.

Graduation Honors and Awards

Undergraduate students whose cumulative grade point ratio (CGPR) is 3.85 or higher will receive their degree summa cum laude; if the CGPR is 3.67, magna cum laude; if the CGPR is 3.33, cum laude. Only weighted grades will be included in computing honors. Only the credits taken at Fairleigh Dickinson University, a minimum of 54 credits, will be used in this evaluation.

Students who qualify to graduate with honors will receive a medal.

Pinnacle Award

Each year faculty and staff nominate one undergraduate student from the graduating class for the Pinnacle Award. The student is invited to speak for the Virtual Commencement Ceremony.

Graduate Program Speaker

Each year a graduating representative from the graduate program is invited to speak on behalf of the class at the Commencement Ceremony.

Studio Graduation Photos

To book your personal portrait sitting, please contact Artona by calling 604.872.7272, or visit their website at Click the “My School Info” button on the homepage. Enter “Fairleigh Dickinson University”. Follow the on-line instructions.

There is a $15 non-refundable sitting fee and a $60 refundable deposit. The $60 deposit allows them to produce and send you previews of your photos, which will be applied to your photo order.

Diplomas will be available for pick up at the main FDU Vancouver Campus about 8 weeks after the date of graduation. Unless otherwise specified, all diplomas will be available for pickup at the Vancouver Campus (842 Cambie).
