Fairleigh Dickinson University has released an update regarding the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. In response to recent developments from the U.S. Department of Education, FDU wants to ensure that students and families are informed and supported during this period.

The U.S. Department of Education announced on January 30, 2024, that institutions and states will begin to receive Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) in the first half of March. This announcement signifies a delay from the original timeline for ISIR delivery. ISIRs contain vital information that forms the basis for determining financial aid packages. Consequently, FDU and other institutions will be unable to disburse financial aid until after the ISIRs have been received and processed.

Understanding the potential impact on families, FDU reaffirms its commitment to assisting students during these unprecedented circumstances. To provide additional support, the University is extending its commitment deadline to June 1, 2024. This extension aims to alleviate any stress or uncertainty surrounding financial aid packages.

Despite the delay, FDU encourages incoming first-year students to submit their deposits as soon as possible. Doing so secures housing arrangements, if applicable, and maximizes availability for Orientation Sessions and Fall course selection. FDU remains dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for all incoming students, and timely deposit submission contributes to this goal.
