Joseph Cerciello Named Director of FDU Veterans Services
September 9, 2026 – Fairleigh Dickinson University has appointed Joseph Cerciello as Director of Veterans Services. In his new role, Cerciello will lead the University’s efforts to support veterans, service members and their families and further strengthen FDU’s commitment to military-connected students.
Cerciello has served as assistant director of Veterans Services since 2023, supporting the University’s mission of providing military-connected students with the resources, guidance and opportunities they need to succeed academically and professionally.
A United States Marine Corps veteran and FDU graduate, Cerciello earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration and brings valuable professional experience as an emergency medical technician. His leadership, professional experience and commitment to veteran advocacy have made him an integral member of the Office of Veterans Services.
In his previous role, Cerciello supported student veterans through educational benefits counseling, veteran programming, campus and community partnerships, and individualized student support. He has also worked to expand opportunities for military-connected students and strengthen connections between FDU and organizations serving the veteran community throughout New Jersey.
As director, Cerciello will continue to build on FDU’s longstanding commitment to veterans and service members, advancing programs and partnerships that support their academic achievement, leadership development, career preparation and overall success.

Under Cerciello’s leadership, the Office of Veterans Services will continue working to expand educational opportunities, strengthen community and workforce partnerships, and ensure that military-connected students have the resources and support they need to achieve their goals.
