FDU: What’s your favorite way to decompress after a long day of work?
Arnold Okpani: A favorite of mine would be to go for a run. I don’t like to run alone so I’ll usually run with a friend or run behind my kids on their bikes. It’s funny when my youngest laughs at the gap between me and them on the downhill sections and then I have to boost her on the uphill.
FDU: What is the best dish you can cook?
AO: That would be grilled whole catfish (Basa), cooked the Nigerian way: loaded up with spices, vegetables and plantain.
FDU: What brought you to FDU?
AO: The main draw for me was the ethos of the School of Public and Global Affairs, which embraces public service as a calling. The prospect of smaller class sizes, which provides the opportunity to really get to know the students, hear their stories, and support them on an individual level, was a strong factor as well.
