Dr. Allison Buckingham is an Assistant Professor of Public Health in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She holds a BS in Biology and Nutrition from the State University of New York, an MS in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, an MBA from the University of New Haven, and a PhD in Behavioral Nutrition from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is also a certified dietitian-nutritionist.
Dr. Buckingham’s research centers on breastfeeding and lactation, specifically focusing on how healthcare providers’ lactation-related training affects their ability to offer supportive, evidence-based care. By highlighting the importance of comprehensive clinical education in improving breastfeeding outcomes, her work aims to inform and enhance the development of lactation training programs for clinicians.
