Academic Profile
Dr. Kaplan is an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department. She earned an OTD in Occupational Therapy with a concentration in Health and Wellness from Salus University and a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Kean University.
Dr. Kaplan has experience working with individuals with mental illness, traumatic and acquired brain injury, chronic health conditions, and developmental disabilities in acute psychiatric care as well as community-based programming. Dr. Kaplan’s experience also includes program development and evaluation of several initiatives, including programs for young adults with brain injury, sensory-based and life skills interventions for adults with serious mental illness, and safe driving. She has presented nationally on topics related to mental health promotion.
Dr. Kaplan is passionate about preparing students to be innovative leaders in an ever-changing healthcare landscape through active learning and the development of creative, critical thinking.
