Academic Profile
Dr. Leinfuss joined Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Department of Occupational Therapy in the spring of 2025. Dr. Leinfuss was drawn to Fairleigh Dickinson University’s commitment to academic excellence with student-centered learning at the forefront, as it spoke to her own values as an educator. Prior to joining the occupational therapy department at FDU, Dr. Leinfuss served as an adjunct faculty member within entry level masters and doctoral programs, as well as post professional doctoral programs. She has published in peer-reviewed journals on strength-based, inclusive, and interprofessional practice. She has presented professionally to local, national, and international audiences on pediatric topics. She is the co-creator of regulation framework which was the basis for her doctoral research project.
Her clinical background is rooted in pediatric practice, having worked in various pediatric settings throughout her 27 years of clinical practice. Most recently, Dr. Leinfuss serves as the clinical director of occupational therapy at Great Kids Place and is the co-director of the Sensory-motor Emotional Engagement frame of reference (SEEM). She has been named a “Top Doc” first in 2019, and every year since in New Jersey Family Magazine.
Dr. Leinfuss is dedicated to supporting FDU occupational therapy students in their professional growth. She finds great fulfillment in mentoring emerging practitioners and guiding them through the capstone process as they develop into thoughtful leaders within the occupational therapy profession.
Outside of her professional role, Dr. Leinfuss enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a passion for running, traveling, reading, and playing with her three beloved dogs.
