Academic Profile

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that all students learn differently and deserve an inclusive, supportive environment that fosters academic and personal growth. In diverse higher education settings, every student has the potential to succeed when treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

With over 20 years of teaching experience at both community colleges and four-year institutions, I use a student-centered approach that emphasizes clarity, flexibility, and engagement. I incorporate multiple instructional strategies, technology, and real-world applications to make foundational concepts accessible and meaningful, prioritizing conceptual understanding over memorization.

I view teaching as both instruction and mentorship. I maintain an open-door policy, offer additional support through review sessions and individual meetings, plus remain attentive to students’ identities and backgrounds. I am committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to create a welcoming classroom where all students can thrive.
