Academic Profile

Xin Tan is currently a Professor of MIS in the Department of Marketing, Information Systems, and Decision Sciences at Fairleigh Dickinson University. His interest in information technologies and information systems was heightened while he was pursuing his MBA at Miami University in Ohio. Afterward, he studied MIS and obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His current research interests include information systems development and implementation, and user acceptance of emerging information technologies, and data analytics in business. He has published research papers in Communications of the ACM, Information Systems Journal, Decision Support Systems, Data & Knowledge Engineering, and Journal of Computer Information Systems. Dr. Tan also enjoys teaching MIS courses. He has taught more than 15 different courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels at FDU. Dr. Tan is the recipient of Silberman College of Business Professor of the Year (2017-2018).
