FDU Engaged Scholars Application

Benefits 

  • Students accepted into the BHWET- PRO FDU ENGAGED Scholars program will receive enriched education, training, and career development opportunities focused on interprofessional development. 
  • Students receive an annual stipend of $25,000. 
  • Travel assistance. 

Who should apply? 

  • Social Work, School Psychology, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students interested in serving children, adolescents and young adults at risk for mental health, trauma and behavioral health disorders. Eligible students also include those who are committed to contributing to a workforce that delivers integrated behavioral health care in high need areas, particularly within primary care settings. 

Eligibility 

  • Social Work, School Psychology, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students entering their last year of clinical or practicum and in good standing (as defined by the respective program) 
  • U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or foreign national with a visa permitting permanent residence. 
  • Not a recipient of any other federal stipend.

Requirements 

  • Complete the BHWET- PRO FDU ENGAGED scholars’ program application. 
  • Enrolled with a matriculated full- or part-time course load and good academic standing in your appropriate college and fulfill predetermined requirements for your program. 
  • Sign a commitment letter for the program, outlining the understanding of the requirements and related information. 
  • Complete all scheduled enhanced training sessions conducted by FDU ENGAGED. 
  • Commit to providing contact and employment information following graduation. 
  • All scholars must apply for and obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number as a prerequisite for receiving their annual stipend support. 

Application Process 

  • Complete and return this form by Tuesday, September 10, 2025. 
  • The Selection Committee will review applications and reserve the right to interview applicants before making final decisions. 
  • Decisions will be shared with applicants via FDU email address.

By submitting this request, I authorize and grant permission to my academic unit or its representatives involved with the FDU ENGAGED Scholars selection process to obtain and examine my academic transcript, letters of recommendation, and resume to confirm initial eligibility and ensure continued eligibility.

I certify that I am eligible to receive FDU ENGAGED Scholars financial support and that the information in this application is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that inaccurate information may affect my ability to receive financial support through the FDU ENGAGED Scholars program. If this application leads to the award/receipt of financial support, I understand that false or misleading information in my application or interview may result in my removal from the FDU ENGAGED Scholars program.
