Vancouver Commencement 2025

Congratulations Class of 2024-2025! 

Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Vancouver is pleased to announce that two Commencement Ceremonies are scheduled for May 7, 2025, at The Centre for Performing Arts, located at 777 Homer St. 

The first ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 pm, with a subsequent ceremony at 04:30 pm.  

First Ceremony – 12:00 pm 

  • Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies  
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration  
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology  
  • Master of Hospitality Management Studies  
  • Master of Administrative Science  

Second Ceremony – 04:30 pm 

  • Master of Science in Applied Computer Science  

Starting from February 3 until February 28, 2025 all declared 2024-2025 graduating students are invited to register for the Commencement Ceremony using Tassel.

Pre-Commencement Dinner 

The Pre-Commencement Dinner takes place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm at the Italian Cultural Centre located at 3075 Slocan Street. 

Starting from February 3 until February 28, 2025 all declared 2024-2025 graduating students are invited to register for the Pre-Commencement Dinner using Tassel. The Pre-Commencement Dinner is free and is for graduating students only. No guests are allowed.   

Graduating students need a GRAD PASS to attend the dinner. Students who register for the pre-commencement dinner will be emailed with instructions on how to claim their GRAD PASS by March 7. The GRAD PASS is not transferable.  

Vancouver Graduation Salute 

Declared 2024-2025 graduating students are invited to join the Graduation Salute on Monday, May 5, 2025. The Salute is a family-friendly event offering different activities on campus to all graduating students. 

Location: Cambie location 

Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm 

Regalia 

Students can order their regalia through Tasselfrom February 3 to February 28, 2025.  

Students who miss the regalia order deadline should emailvancouver-graduation@fdu.edu. The Office of Enrollment Services will do our best to accommodate late orders.  

Regalia Pick-Up 

Students who ordered their regalia will be able to collect their package from room 210 (second floor, Cambie Campus) during the following dates:  

Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 am to 6:00pm  

Monday, May 5, 2025 from 10:00 am to 6:00pm  

Regalia packages are only available for graduating students who pre-ordered.  

Book an appointment to pick up regalia package starting from April 1, 2025here.  

Students must bring their FDU ID card or an official government-issued ID to their regalia pick-up appointment. A friend or family member may be authorized to collect the regalia. Graduating students must email the Office of Enrollment Services atvancouver-graduation@fdu.edu with their student ID number and the name of the person who will be collecting the regalia on their behalf. This person must book an appointment using the link above.   

Grad Greetings Video 

Graduating students are invited to submit a30-second-long videoto take part in the annual Grad Greetings video message. These messages should express your appreciation to those who have helped you reach this milestone and other meaningful messages you wish to convey.

Graduation Honors and Awards 

Graduation Honors 

Undergraduate students whose cumulative grade point ratio (CGPR) is 3.85 or higher will receive their degreesumma cum laude; if the CGPR is 3.67,magna cum laude; if the CGPR is 3.33,cum laude. Only weighted grades will be included in computing honors. Only credits taken at FDU – Vancouver, with a minimum of 54 credits, will be used in this evaluation. Students who qualify to graduate with honors will receive a medal.  

Pinnacle Award 

Each year faculty and staff nominate one undergraduate student from the graduating class for the Pinnacle Award. The student is invited to speak at the Commencement Ceremony.

Graduate Representative 

Each year a graduating representative from a master’s program is invited to speak on behalf of the class at the Commencement Ceremony.  

Guests 

Graduating students can invite up to 4 guests to the Commencement Ceremony. To request more tickets please email us atvancouver-graduation@fdu.edu. Students requesting extra tickets will be put on a waitlist.  

Student Loan Exit Interviews 

Students who have received Canadian student loans are required to attend an exit interview with the Director of Enrollment Services during their final term. To book an appointment please emailesvancouver@fdu.edu. 

Invitation Letter for Commencement Ceremony 

FDU – Vancouver does not provide invitation letters for parents or relatives attending the Commencement Ceremony in Canada.  

Students who would like to invite family members to Canada to attend Commencement Ceremony can use the invitation letter template available here:Family Invitation Letter for Canada Immigration 

Ensure to fill in the bold portions of the letter with the appropriate information.
