Sinclair and Stacey

A young couple, then and now, who fell in love in college. They wear casual clothes in one photo and the man wears a cap and gown in the other.Sinclair Davis, AA’09, BA’11, MA’16, PsyD’18 (Metro), and Stacey (Oakley) Davis, BS’01 MBA’07 (Metro), met during orientation in 1999 — Sinclair a new student and Stacey an orientation leader. “She checked me in at registration!” They had lunch together at Jeepers (now The Bridge Café in Alumni Hall), beginning a friendship that ultimately turned into a romance.

“A little over eight years later, in a booth right where we had our first lunch together on campus, he proposed,” says Stacey. The two have been married since 2009 and have two sons.

“My wife is such a sweet person,” says Sinclair. “She’s always smiling and offering kind words and encouragement. She’s been around for a lot of my successes and failures in life. She’s a constant. My guardian angel.”

For her part, Stacey says Sinclair has an “amazing, genuine heart” and is the best father. “He makes me feel loved, valued and appreciated every day. He brings balance to my life. I love the way he loves me and our children.”

Fun fact: The Davises lived in Northpointe residence hall early in their marriage, when Stacey worked at FDU, and they brought their eldest son home to that apartment from the hospital!
