Academic Profile

Dr. Christina Christodoulou is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she teaches in the undergraduate Psychology and graduate Industrial-Organizational Psychology programs. She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Montclair State University.

Dr. Christodoulou’s research focuses on Occupational Health Psychology. She is particularly interested in the impact of prolonged work demands on physical health, recovery from stress, psychological detachment from work, and boundary management. Broadly, her goals are to identify ways that organizations can create healthier and more sustainable work environments and to translate research into practice by partnering with organizations to promote healthy work-life balance. Collaboration with other scholars is an important component of her work, and she has presented her research at conferences throughout the United States, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, as well as internationally, including the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology.

As an educator, Dr. Christodoulou takes a student-centered approach and is passionate about helping students develop critical thinking skills, explore their own interests, and connect psychological science to real-world experiences. She strives to create learning experiences that encourage students to move beyond memorizing concepts and instead consider how psychology can be applied to their everyday lives, communities, and future careers.

Outside of academia, Dr. Christodoulou is a yoga teacher, avid runner, and passionate traveler. She is also a writer and is currently pursuing publication of her first book.
