Academic Profile

Prior to my academic career, for 12 years, I had managerial and advising positions in the aircraft construction industry where I used my engineering training.

Over more than 25 years, as an academic, I developed an extensive portfolio of research and teaching that led to various awards in both.

My research expertise led me to invitations. Those invitations led me to the editorial board of a number of journals in my field. I was invited as a program chair (the track chair) to numerous international conferences.  Some of my most recent co-authored research in course development and shareholder deserved return received the “Bright Idea Award” (2017,2019) awarded by the New Jersey Policy Research Organization (NJPRO) for outstanding research of business faculty from colleges and universities across the state.

More recently I was interested to incorporate data processing and financial analysis by using Bloomberg Terminals and the Wharton Research Data Services in my teaching.  For such efforts, I was awarded the Bartlett Professor of Teaching Innovation for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years.

For a number of years, I analyzed the annual and quarterly surveys done by Silberman College of Business and FDU’s PublicMind on consumer intentions.   My commentary on the economy appeared in The Wall Street Journal, iStockAnalyst, NJBIZ, Bloomberg Business Week, The Record, Daily Record, The Philadelphia Tribune, and other local and regional newspapers.

Finally, to keep abreast of developments in the practice of finance, I do occasional consulting where I use my expertise in employees’ stock options and investments.
