Academic Profile

I am a strong proponent of the philosophy that connecting real-world contexts to subject matter significantly enhances the student learning experience. This approach ensures that students move beyond passive, textbook-based learning and are instead able to visualize and apply theoretical concepts in practical, meaningful ways. By engaging with real-world scenarios, students develop critical thinking skills and are better prepared to become effective problem solvers for the next generation.

To fully embody this philosophy, I design my courses so that each topic is complemented by an activity, case study, or project that enables students to demonstrate their understanding and appreciate the practical implications of the concepts covered. I place strong emphasis on group discussions and collaborative learning, encouraging students to learn collectively as a community rather than solely as individuals. This approach fosters an inclusive learning environment that extends beyond the classroom and mirrors real-world professional and organisational settings.

My research interests include cloud security, cloud computing, cybersecurity, soft computing tools, and image processing, with a particular focus on applications within computer engineering. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Technology, and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, and I bring extensive post-secondary teaching experience to my role. My combined academic and industry background enables me to deliver instruction that is both relevant and engaging. I have published extensively in international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters indexed in Scopus and SCI, and I strongly believe in the value of interdisciplinary research.
