FDU Vancouver Partners with the Canadian Marketing Association to Support Students and Alumni in Earning the Chartered Marketer Designation
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Vancouver is proud to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) as a Post-Secondary Institution Partner, supporting the nationally recognized Chartered Marketer (CM) designation. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing marketing education, professional business excellence, and career readiness for students and alumni in Canada.
The Chartered Marketer designation is a respected professional credential that recognizes strategic expertise, ethical practice, and continued professional development in marketing. Through this partnership, FDU Vancouver will help promote awareness of the CM designation among students and graduates, especially for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a minor in Digital Marketing, ensuring they understand how academic learning can translate into professional recognition and long-term career growth.
A central benefit of this partnership is that FDU’s BBA with a minor in Digital Marketing is pre-approved for the CMA’s advanced education pathway, thus accelerating the route to Chartered Marketer status. This recognition helps prospective students clearly identify programs that align with industry standards, while reinforcing the credibility and applied focus of FDU’s curriculum. For future students, it provides a clear pathway from degree completion to professional designation.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA). Membership enables our students to accentuate their marketing skills by earning the prestigious Chartered Marketer (CM) designation, pursue further certification in specialized areas, as well as attend industry events and network with marketing professionals to stay abreast of developments in this dynamic industry. We look forward to working with our students on these amazing opportunities to accelerate their career development.” — Jill Reid, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer in Marketing, FDU Vancouver
Beyond program recognition, the partnership connects FDU students and alumni to the CMA’s ecosystem of professional development opportunities. These include access to industry events, webinars, certification programs, research reports, guides, and white papers that address real-world marketing challenges. CMA membership also provides preferred pricing for many training workshops and courses, helping FDU students continue learning and growing as they transition into the workforce. Current FDU Vancouver students and alumni can register for a CMA account using their FDU email for free. Create a MyCMA account online and complete the online form https://thecma.ca/login/sign-up.
The CMA also plays a vital role in shaping public policy and ethical standards impacting the marketing profession in Canada. Through this partnership, FDU students gain exposure to best practices in privacy, consumer protection, and responsible marketing – key competencies in today’s increasingly regulated and digital marketplace.
“At the Canadian Marketing Association, we recognize that the future of marketing is being shaped in cities like Vancouver, where global connectivity, digital transformation, and entrepreneurial energy converge. Our partnership with Fairleigh Dickinson University reflects a shared vision to prepare professionals for this future by delivering innovative, industry-aligned learning experiences. Together, we are creating opportunities for marketers to deepen their expertise, expand their global perspective, and contribute to the continued growth of Vancouver’s economy. This collaboration is not just about education; it is about building leadership capacity and enabling professionals to drive meaningful impact in a rapidly evolving business landscape.” — Dr. Jeffrey O’Leary, Chief Learning Officer, Canadian Marketing Association
