Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver Appoints Peter Guo as Advisory Council Chair

Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Vancouver is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Guo, CPA, MBA, ICD.D as the inaugural Chair of its Advisory Council, a strategic body designed to strengthen collaboration between industry and FDU Vancouver.

Peter is a recurring Business in Vancouver BC500 honouree (BC’s 500 Most Influential Business Leaders). His business and community impact stem from decades of mentoring people, building teams, and extensive service on academic, not-for-profit, and corporate boards. Recently, Peter was selected as the Chair of the Board for the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC. He is the first Chair of Chinese descent to serve the professional body governing this Province’s 48,000 CPAs and CPA students.

Fifteen years ago, Peter established and built MNP LLP’s Enterprise Risk Services practice in BC, that now counts team members in Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna, delivering advisory and assurance solutions for public and private sector organizations locally, nationally, and globally. Peter is widely respected for his ability to advise executives and boards on complex matters. He holds an MBA and ICD.D from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business and maintains numerous professional designations.

The FDU Vancouver Advisory Council brings together a select group of distinguished leaders from across BC sectors to provide strategic guidance, support governance, and ensure that the University’s programs remain aligned with evolving industry needs, trends, and workforce demands.

In accepting the role, Guo said: “It is an absolute honour to Chair FDU Vancouver’s Advisory Council. In this time of great change in the post-secondary sector and economic challenge in BC, the Advisory Council will be called upon to strategically position and support FDU Vancouver as it embarks on its next expansion.”

The establishment of the Advisory Council coincides with a transformative chapter for FDU Vancouver as it prepares to relocate to its new, state-of-the-art 70,000-square-foot campus at Oakridge Park. This move represents FDU Vancouver’s major investment in the future of higher education in British Columbia and reflects the University’s long-term commitment to the region.
