VANCOUVER, B.C. — Fairleigh Dickinson University is celebrating the opening of its new state-of-the-art campus at Oakridge Park. Since FDU Vancouver opened in 2007, the campus has grown into a diverse academic community, and its new home at Oakridge Park marks an important milestone in the University’s commitment to providing a personal, global, and transformational education.

With more than 70,000 square feet of learning and collaborative space, FDU Vancouver, a not-for-profit comprehensive university, is now located within one of Vancouver’s newest cultural, residential, and business communities. The new campus reflects the University’s ongoing investment in student success and workforce development. It provides innovative, personalized learning environments while helping respond to the growing demand for skilled professionals.

Supporting B.C.’s Evolving Workforce

FDU Vancouver’s new campus comes at an important time for British Columbia. According to the 2025-2035 WorkBC Labour Market Outlook, the province is projected to see 1.05 million job openings over the next decade, with approximately 77% requiring post-secondary education or specialized training. The B.C. Look West: Jobs and Prosperity for a Stronger BC and Canada Strategy also highlights the importance of attracting and developing talent. In particular, it identifies skills, innovation, and expertise as important drivers of economic growth and stronger communities.

Through its new campus and flexible academic programs, FDU Vancouver is helping learners develop in-demand skills through career-focused education, personalized support, and meaningful industry connections, preparing graduates to succeed in an evolving workforce.

The new campus features 18 modern classrooms, computer and science labs, an AI lab, collaborative spaces, student support areas, and a multipurpose event space. It is located along the Cambie Corridor near Oakridge–41st Avenue SkyTrain station.

Alongside its degree programs, FDU Vancouver is expanding professional learning through its new Continuing Professional Education offerings. With flexible 6 to 12-month certificate programs, CPE is designed to respond to evolving workforce needs and support the province’s economic development strategies. 

Three Days of Celebration and Connection

The Grand Opening celebrations will begin on October 14 with the FDU Vancouver Alumni Awards and Industry Networking Night. The event will bring together alumni, business and industry leaders, community partners, and University leadership to recognize distinguished alumni, build new relationships, and celebrate the impact of the FDU Vancouver community. 

The celebrations will conclude on October 16 with a High School Counsellor Appreciation Event and a Partner and Agent Appreciation Reception. These events will recognize the educators and recruitment partners who help students explore pathways to higher education and future careers.
