30th CISSE Colloquium – Investigate. Imagine. Integrate. Impact.
The 30th Colloquium will bring together educators, researchers, and practitioners to explore emerging challenges and innovations shaping cybersecurity education. Whether you’re presenting original research, leading a workshop, facilitating a panel, sharing a poster, or demonstrating innovative teaching practices, there are many ways to participate. We invite broad contributions that inspire collaboration, advance the field, and strengthen the cybersecurity education community.

IEEE Cyber Awareness Research Symposium (CARS)
On behalf of the IEEE Cyber Awareness Research Symposium (IEEE CARS 2026), your institution is invited to participate in IEEE CARS 2026, which will be held October 26–28, 2026, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
IEEE CARS is a faculty-driven, student-focused conference designed to encourage student participation and research dissemination. The conference offers Best Paper Awards, Best Poster Awards, Capture-the-Flag (CTF) Awards, student research recognition awards, networking opportunities, and hands-on workshops in Rust programming, Agentic AI, Federated Learning, and cyber defense.
Several representatives and program managers from the NSA, DoW, DOE, AFRL, and U.S. National Laboratories are expected to attend, creating unique opportunities for engagement with federal sponsors, researchers, and practitioners.

SURICON Lisbon 2026 Conference
SuriCon is an annual open-source technology community conference that highlights discussions and developments related to Suricata, the powerful intrusion detection and prevention tool.
Throughout the span of three days, they showcase speakers from around the globe who provide their expertise and insight into how best to maximize the application of Suricata’s technology. Attendees can network with sponsors, discuss new applications and knowledge during poster sessions, & mingle freely in a more relaxed environment than the usual virtual space Suricata users often occupy.
They also host an add-on option for advanced hands-on training sessions which take place throughout the two days prior to the general sessions. Suricata developers lead these.

IEEE Seminar on Media Forensics
IEEE North Jersey Section Computer Chapter, Signal Processing Chapter, and FDU School of Engineering co-sponsored a talk titled, “Media Forensics in the Era of Deepfakes” on April 29, 2026 at 2 PM.
The speaker, Dr. Scott McCloskey is the Director of Computational Imaging at Kitware, where he leads a group of researchers and developers within the Computer Vision team to develop new capabilities involving non-traditional sensing. During his time at Kitware Dr. McCloskey has led several large, multi-organization teams for research projects funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and Missile Defense Agency (MDA). In addition to leading the Computational Imaging sub-group, Dr. McCloskey founded Kitware’s Office in Minneapolis.
Image forensics is a longstanding area of computer vision research, in which one attempts to detect, localize, and/or attribute manipulations of still and video imagery. This talk describes the progression of the field from the foundations of digital image forensics to modern issues related to deepfakes. Early work focused on manipulations made with interactive image editing, using signal processing approaches that estimate and match sensor fingerprints. Then, in the late 2010’s, new forensic challenges arose from the rise of generative AI-based image synthesis and editing, along with the increased use of in-camera image enhancement. These rapid changes in nature of both real and altered imagery necessitated the development of new algorithms and datasets. This talk will present technical approaches from these different eras of digital image forensics, and conclude with an enumeration of current challenges in image forensics.

IEEE Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and Hardware Security
IEEE North Jersey Section Computer Chapter, Signal Processing Chapter, and FDU School of Computer Sciences and Engineering are co-sponsoring a talk titled, “Artificial Intelligence and Hardware Security” on November 11, 2020 at 2 PM. The speaker, Dr. Yier Jin, is an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida. Dr. Jin’s research has been supported by several agencies including Department of Energy (DoE) and Office of Naval Research (ONR). He is an IEEE CEDA Distinguished Lecturer.
