Welcome to Fairleigh Dickinson University’s (FDU’s) Center for Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (CCIA). This Center provides access to Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) resources.
FDU is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.
FDU was designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) in 2015. The University was re-designated in 2021. The designation recognizes the standard of education and training in the Cybersecurity field with curriculum mapped to the NSA’s latest requirements.
The University was initially named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education in 2013. This current designation, extends till October 2026, follows an extensive review of FDU’s programs by the NSA. Currently, the University is applying for redesignation for the next five years.

FDU Awarded NSA Grant to Develop Innovative Cyber AI Curriculum – Led by Drs. Yaoqing Liu and Erdal Kose from the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics on the Metro Campus, FDU has been awarded a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA) to partner with local high schools (Dwight Morrow High School and the Freehold Regional High School District) to develop an innovative Cyber AI curriculum for K–12 education starting August 2026. The project will develop a comprehensive curriculum that integrates artificial intelligence with cybersecurity education to prepare students for future academic and workforce opportunities. The project will also offer Cyber AI summer camps for students, professional development workshops for K–12 teachers, and family engagement nights to promote AI and cybersecurity awareness within local communities. The curriculum and instructional resources will be shared nationally through the NCAE-C CLARK repository, extending FDU’s contributions to AI and cybersecurity education across the country. The award provides $490,938 in funding for the first two years, with the potential for an additional $244,015 for a third year, subject to continuation approval. This award further enhances FDU’s national impact and advances its strategic leadership in AI and cybersecurity education while strengthening partnerships with K–12 schools across New Jersey.
