Application Deadlines

Application and all required supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline* for the term:
  • Fall (September start) term – June 15
  • Winter (January start) term – October 15

Admission Procedures

The admission process to the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is competitive – offers are based on seat availability and the overall strength of the applicant pool. The Admissions team cannot provide individual status updates before admission decisions are released.
 
Applicants will be advised if they require any foundation courses in the first term at the time of admission. Admission Requirements

  1. Graduated from an accredited 4-year bachelor’s degree program, or equivalent.
    • In some instances, 3-year degrees are considered equivalent to a 4-year degree. For instance, a 3-year degrees from India are considered equivalent to a 4-year degree if:
    • The applicant’s overall standing in the degree is 1st Class/Division, and the awarding institutions have been accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of A or better https://www.naac.gov.in/ OR the awarding institution is designated an Institution of National Importance, such as the Indian Institute of Technology.
  2. Completion of one approved undergraduate (or graduate) university level mathematics or statistics courses with a minimum grade of ‘B’ or higher, or completion of a FDU approved university-level mathematics or statistics course in the first term of study
  3. Maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00/B or equivalent or above in their undergraduate studies.
  4. Minimum of four years of professional experience in the health sector.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in the communication of the English language. Please refer to the following chart for the recommended English proficiency scores. Exemption from English language tests for admission can be found here.

IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band below 6.5) or higher
TOEFL (IBT)O 88, R 20, L 20, S 20, W 24 or higher
PTE AcademicO 59, L 57, R 60, S 53, W 65 or higher
Duolingo English Test – tested on or after July 1, 2024125 (No individual subscore below 125) or higher
iTEP4.5 (No band below 4.5) or higher
O = OVERALL SCORE; W = WRITING BAND; R = READING BAND; S = SPEAKING BAND; L = LISTENING BAND
 

Students who meet the above scores on IELTS Academic, TOEFL, or PTE Academic are exempt from the English Placement Test (EPT) as part of the class registration process. These students will be required to take EPS 6299 Graduate Research Seminar in their first term.

Students admitted with above scores on IELTS Online, TOEFL Home Edition, PTE Academic Online, Duolingo English Test, or iTEP are required to take the EPT before registration. Those who score between 11 and 14 on the EPT will be placed in the Pre-Master Program (PMP): EPS 5099 Academic Writing Skills. Students who score 15 or higher will be required to take EPS 6299 Graduate Research Seminar.

Applicants who are close to meeting the recommended English proficiency scores may still be admitted with academic English support. Find more details on the Graduate English Requirements Overview page.

Required Documents

Copies of the documents must be submitted together with the online application.
  1. Attested or official transcripts, academic records, Individual mark sheets showing all attempts, failures, and retakes, diplomas, degrees received from all post-secondary institutions. If the documents are not in English, a certified translation is required.
  2. Proof of English Proficiency: For more details, please refer to the Graduate English Requirements Overview page and above-mentioned Admissions Requirements.
  3. Copy of information page in your valid passport or government issued Photo ID.
  4. Resume or portfolio (required).
  5. Recommendation letters (optional).

Applying for Transfer Credits

If you have already completed a Master’s-level degree at a recognized post-secondary institution and have taken courses similar to those in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at FDU Vancouver, you may be eligible to apply for transfer credits.
