Om. Bleat! Totes Goats recently visited FDU’s Metropolitan Campus to lead goat yoga sessions for the community.

“Yoga and animal therapy are both extremely beneficial. Yoga isn’t for everyone, but we think adding in the goats breaks down discomfort and makes it more approachable,” says Tyler Morella of Totes Goats, who coordinated the event with Loren Darzano, assistant director of campus life for student engagement at the Metropolitan Campus.

Ready, Aim, Fire … Volleyball!

On Friday, May 2, teams from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Stevens Institute of Technology competed in a trebuchet competition, launching volleyballs on the Commencement Green at the Metropolitan Campus. FDU’s American Society of Mechanical Engineers club sponsors the build, but anyone can join. A trebuchet, a medieval weapon, relies on a counterweight and gravity to release.

Participating students “get to use what they’re learning in class right now on a real-world application. Having that on your résumé is a big deal. Being part of this build has helped previous participants land a job or an internship,” says Brett Caparas, a senior mechanical engineering major.
