FDU’s John Niser sworn in as President of The Les Amis D’Escoffier Society of New York
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Park and Teaneck, New Jersey (November 4, 2022) — John Niser, director of The International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University was sworn in as President of The Les Amis d ’Escoffier Society of New York at the 84th Fall Dinner at the Park Lane New York in New York City, on October 27, 2022.

“I am honored to serve the members of Les Amis D’Escoffier Society of New York. I treasure this opportunity and the journey that has led me here. FDU’s Florham Campus sits on the former country estate of Florence Vanderbilt and Hamilton Twombly. This is where Joseph Denon, a founding member of the Les Amis D’Escoffier Society worked as chef for thirty-eight years,” said Niser.
Dr. Niser is very familiar with the historical significance of this serendipitous opportunity to serve the Les Amis d’Escoffier Society of New York. Having worked in leadership roles at prestigious Swiss hotel schools prior to operating successful hospitality programs in the United States, Dr. Niser has also worked in kitchens and trained under chefs in Paris, London and Brussels.

The Les Amis d’Escoffier Society of New York was formed in 1936 by a group of epicures, many of whom were former pupils of Auguste Escoffier. Since the first gathering at The Waldorf Astoria hotel, the Society has grown to become the nation’s foremost fraternity of dedicated gastronomes. Membership consists of chefs de cuisine, hospitality executives, restaurateurs, and business executives. The Society is a highly respected institution in the culinary world and gathers monthly for epicurean events and education.
