Veterans Services named finalist for national award

January 12 – Martha Papson Garcia, Army veteran and director of FDU’s Office of Veterans Services, was named as a finalist for the Advisor of the Year award by Student Veterans of America (SVA). The SVA is the premier organization leading service, research, programs, and advocacy for veterans in higher education.  The recipients were announced on January 7, 2022, at the 14th Annual National Conference during the SVA Honors Luncheon.

“It has been a wonderful year for FDU’s Office of Veterans Services to receive so much validation about the quality of our programs for our student veterans,” said Garcia. “We are thrilled to be recognized by the Student Veterans of America for FDU’s commitment to advising our student veterans.”
