Academic Profile

Ajay K. Garg is a Professor of Strategic, Operations, and Decision Management in the School of Public and Global Affairs at the Silberman College of Business, Vancouver campus. He had been a Senior Professor in the School of Business Studies at Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), India. He has about 25 years of academic and administrative experience. He has been a successful administrator and a management professor accredited by the All-India Management Association. Additionally, he has approximately 14 years of industry experience in operations and international business. He has completed various academic and industrial assignments in more than 30 countries.

He has four books to his credit. The first is a textbook titled ‘Production and Operations Management’ from McGraw-Hill Education. He has authored approximately 40 research articles across the cross-functional areas of quality, operations, and supply chain, published in reputable international peer-reviewed journals. His second book, ‘Managing Quality in the Handicraft Sector’, was published in April 2012. He has co-edited another book, ‘Emerging Challenges in Business, Optimization, Technology, and Industry’, with Springer International Publishing AG. The fourth book on Organizational Decision Making, ‘Art and Science’, was published in September 2018.

Professor Garg has been a subject-matter expert on quality, stress, and time management in handicrafts and cottage industry. He had been a member of the advisory committee on ‘Assessment of Waste and Pattern of Occupational Hazards in Plastic Industry’, established by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. He had been a member of the Advisory Committee of SWISO, an ISO certification company that audits the ISO granting system. He was also a member of the Planning Board and Executive Council in TMU India. He speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and a little French.
