Academic Profile

Dr. Farias teaches change management, sustainability, service learning, and ethical issues at the undergraduate and MBA levels.  Dr. Farias is the co-author of the book titled, Improvisational Leaders: Integrating Business, Mindfulness, and Improvisation which was published in 2022.  His research has been published in many refereed publications.  His recent work includes co-authorship of Seven Principles for Seven Generations: Moral Boundaries for Transformational Change, Humanistic Management Journal, and Sustainability Mindsets for Strategic Management: Lifting the Yoke of the Neo-Classical Economic Perspective in the journal Sustainability.  He has served as co-editor for special issues of the journal Sustainability and Journal of Management, Religion, and Spirituality. He is on the Board of the US Chapter of the International Humanistic Management Association where he initiated a webinar series on “Responsible Digital Futures”. He is currently leading the development of a webinar series on Human Rights and Business. He spent six months in India as a Fulbright Scholar teaching Sustainability and studying Social Entrepreneurship.  He has also presented at various conferences around the world.
