Academic Profile

I began my teaching career in the Peace Corps (Togo: 1970-72).  As soon as I left the Peace Corps, I returned to NYU Law School, graduated, practiced law for a few years, and then served as a New York County Assistant District Attorney under Robert M. Morgenthau.

I left the District Attorney’s office to join a firm in lower Manhattan as a litigator and recently retired. I’ve tried cases, argued many motions, and written lots of appellate briefs.

Over the past ten years or so, I’ve taught many courses in FDU’s English for Professional Success program, as well as a Core Curriculum course on US History that is no longer offered, For several years, I’ve also taught in FDU’s Yeshiva Program.

I now tutor at the Metro Writing Studio where I tackle each assignment knowing that writing English isn’t easy and that students need to learn to write for their readers.
