BSIT Admission Requirements

Application Deadlines 

Domestic Students 

Canadian citizens and permanent residents are admitted on a “rolling basis”. Applications for the upcoming trimester are accepted up until the start of classes. Please refer to the FDU Vancouver Campus academic calendar for class start dates for Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. 

Applicants can apply online for the intake that is currently open for applications. Please e-mail vancouver-admissions@fdu.edu if you would like to change your start term to an earlier term. Proof of status is required. 

International Students 

Fall (September) term – April 30 (Extended till June 29, 2025) 

Winter (January) term – August 31 

Summer (May) term – December 31 

English Language Proficiency 

An applicant whose native language is not English is required to demonstrate a minimum level of English language proficiency by submitting results of an English proficiency test prior to admission. However, certain applicants may be exempt from this requirement under specific conditions. Please refer to the English Proficiency page for detailed information on the language requirements and exemption criteria for your program. 

Applicants unable to meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement can receive conditional admission by enrolling in one of the partner English language schools in Vancouver. You must submit both a Vancouver Campus Application for Admission and a separate admission application to the English language school of your choice.

Entrance Requirements 

Canadian High School Students 

Applicants who completed high school in British Columbia or in other Canadian provinces or territories. 

Education Requirements 

  • Completed high school in Canada and graduated with a high school diploma 
  • Completed the following courses in British Columbia, or equivalent courses from other Canadian provinces or territories: 
  • Grade 11  
  • English 11 plus a language 11 
  • Mathematics 11 
  • An approved Grade 11 Science course 
  • An approved Grade 11 Social Science course 
  • Grade 12 
  • English 12 or English First Nations 12 
  • Foundations of Math 12/ Principles of Mathematics 12 or Pre-Calculus 12 
  • Two other approved Grade 12 courses (from Group A or B). It is recommended that at least one be laboratory science course from Group B. Open the “Approved Grade 12 Course Groupings” PDF to view the list of courses under each group. 

Required Documents 

You must submit a copy of your Grade 12 transcript and high school diploma with your online application.  

Early Admission 

High school students who are in Grade 12 can apply for early admission in January for Fall (September) classes. Please include a copy of your Grade 12 interim results and current course selection with your online application. 

International High School Students 

Applicants who completed senior secondary school from outside of Canada.  

Education Requirements 

An applicant must have graduated from an accredited or government recognized senior secondary program with courses relevant to the FDU program of your choice. A math course at the senior secondary level is required. 

Required Documents 

You must submit a copy of your senior secondary transcript and graduation certificate with your online application.  

If a national school leaving examination is required for university entrance in your country, please provide the examination results. 

For academic documents not in English, a notarized or certified English translation must accompany the original documents. 

Early Admission 

High school students currently enrolled in the final year of a government-recognized senior secondary program may apply for early admission. A copy of your Grade 12 interim results must be included with your online application.   

University and College Transfer Students 

If you have completed at least 24 credits in an academic program at a regionally accredited college or university on a full-time basis, you are no longer required to submit high school transcripts. Instead, please submit your college or university transcripts.   

Required Documents 

You are required to submit the most recently issued transcript from your accredited college or university with your application.  

For transcripts not in English, a notarized or certified English translation must accompany the original transcript 

GCE A-Levels, IB, and AP Students 

For students who have completed  

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma/ Certificate courses 
  • GCE Advanced Levels (A-Levels) and International A levels (IAL) 
  • Advanced Placement (AP) 

Required Documents 

  • High school transcripts, and 
  • IB/A-Levels/AP exam results issued by the corresponding examination board, and  
  • IB Diploma (if available).  

If the final results for your GCE A-Levels/IAL, IB, or AP exams are not yet released at the time of application, please include your interim results. The final results should be submitted as soon as they become available. 

Transfer Credits 

You may be eligible for transfer credits if you have completed GCE A-Levels/IAL, IB, AP, or post-secondary coursework at a recognized college or university. See more details about transfer credits eligibility requirements and application steps on the Undergraduate Student Transfer Credits page.
