MSACS Admission Requirements
The Master of Science in Applied Computer Science (MSACS) program is no longer accepting new applications. Current and accepted students will continue to receive full support to complete the program by 2028 under the written consent of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills of British Columbia.
Admission Requirements
1. Graduation from an accredited 4-year bachelor’s degree program with an equivalent to minimum grade point average of 2.75 (B-) on a 4.0 scale.
- Students with lower GPAs can be considered for admission after a broad-based review of their overall academic profile and in combination with related work experience.
- 3-year degrees from India are considered equivalent to a 4-year degree if:
- The applicant’s overall standing in degree is 1st Class/Division, AND
- The awarding institutions have been accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of A or better http://www.naac.gov.in/ OR the awarding institution is designated an Institution of National Importance, such as the Indian Institute of Technology.
2. Demonstrate proficiency in the communication of the English language. Please refer to the following chart for the recommended English proficiency scores. Exemption from English language tests for admission can be found here.

O = Overall Score; W = Writing Band; R = Reading Band; S = Speaking Band; L = Listening Band
Students who meet the above scores are required to take the English Placement Test (EPT) before registration. Those who score between 11 and 14 on the EPT will be placed in the Pre-Master Program (PMP): EPS 5089 Academic Writing Skills. Students who score 15 or higher will be required to take EPS 5289 Academic Research Foundations.
Students who achieve high scores on approved English proficiency tests are exempt from the English Placement Test (EPT) during the class registration process and will be required to take EPS 5289 Academic Research Foundations. Applicants who are close to meeting the recommended English proficiency scores may still be admitted with academic English support. Find more details on the Graduate English Requirements Overview page.

Required Documents
Copies of the documents must be submitted together with the online application.
- Attested or official transcripts, academic records, Individual mark sheets showing all attempts, failures, and retakes, diplomas, degrees received from all post-secondary institutions. If the documents are not in English, a certified translation is required.

- Copy of the information page on your valid passport or government issued Photo ID.
- Resume (recommended).
- Optional- Recommendation letters.
- Optional– Official GRE test score results (FDU-Vancouver code 2818)
Applying for Transfer Credits
If you have already completed a master’s degree at a recognized post-secondary institution and have taken courses similar to those in your program at FDU Vancouver, you may be eligible to apply for transfer credits.
