Accounting Society (Florham)

Preamble

The duty of the FDU Accounting Society is to help our fellow classmates, both accounting and non accounting majors, understand, prepare, and use financial information by linking accounting education with the “real world”. Accounting is the measurement, disclosure, or provision of assurance about information that helps managers and other decision makers make resource allocation decisions. We believe it is imperative that every student of business, and other majors, understands the fundamentals of accounting and financial reporting.

Activities

During each semester the Accounting Society invites accounting firms, companies, organizations and other accounting societies to visit campus and present to the club. This list includes >the big four accounting firms, midsize firms, private practices, local companies, Becker CPA review and the NJSCPA among others. In conjunction with the Career Development Program, the Accounting Society promotes the education and advancement of proper resume writing skills, interview skills and networking. The Accounting Society will help prepare you for life in the “real world”.

Awards

Named “Organization of the Year” at the 12th Annual Maddy Awards, presented by the Student Government Association.
